About 13km outside Springbok (on the Nababeep road) and about 6km from the N7 highway off ramp , in the heart of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape.

It is situated in the foothills of the granite heads of the Kamiesberg , where quiver trees lookout across the valley and Klipspringers roam.

Jakkalswater is entirely “off the grid” and green.

The incredible pure ( and awesome tasting ) water is obtained from a natural underground fountain.

Our power is provided through solar panels and the geysers work with gas.

Our accommodation consists of 14 self-catering units , each equipped with linen, towels and kitchen . Each of the units can accommodate between 2 and 4 guests( 6 guests if needed can be arranged). Furthermore we also have 6 camping sites and there are also 4 very basic wooden wendy houses , equipped and each with its own bathroom and very basic needs for the budget traveler.

Jakkalswater also has a beautiful chapel , where your dream wedding can be held! It is located in the hang of the giant granite mountains and has a breathtaking view across the Namaqua valley.

Also boasting a great sheltered reception area (“ lapa ”) , where the reception can be held – equipped with braai facilities , bathrooms and all the essentials amenities . The event area is ideal for seminars and meetings , where great number of guests can get together and is currently the host for a number well known organizations’ annual features.

About half of the plant species here only lives here in the Namaqualand . When winter rains falls ( July- Oct) each year , the farm becomes wrapped in flower blankets and cause the most beautiful flower spectacle in the world , 3,000 different plant species thrive here some named bokbaai vygies , daisies, Gazania’s , cattails and so forth.

Guests can hike anywhere on the farm and enjoy the scenery as long as they respect the vulnerable eco system. Climb the granite heads and seek out the mysterious Klipspringers and the baboons ,or walk in the dry rivers beds around, looking for “padloper” turtles , while admiring the floral kingdom.

Jakkalswater is, of course estination on its own but offers also to guests an ideal overnight option, on the way to Namibia , the Richtersveld and the northern west coast of south Africa.
